This album is inspired by an experience I had with a dear friend this summer when she sang to me a song by Simon de Voil called "Be Still" I cover this song here. It is based on words from Psalms. I was so soothed and enchanted by this tapering chant style that I had to explore and play with phrases of my own and did so in an acapella way. Three songs take on this style. Others are hums that came from storms and gardens and walks in the forest and by mountain rivers. All of it simple and grounded and just letting harmony and voice come freely... each song bringing me a personal joy I wish to share...each song wishing to touch the soul.
